Come One, Come All —

Welcome to the all new Fierce, Freethinking Fatties.

We’ve got ten outstanding bloggers contributing to this freshman endeavor and plenty of thought-provoking content on the way.

The highly-anticipated content-based feed is still in the works, but will revolutionize the way you interact with the Fat Acceptance community once in place.

We’re an open-minded, friendly sort of community that welcomes disagreement, dissent, and diet-talk (with ample trigger warnings). We aren’t promoting dieting, but we acknowledge that Fat Acceptance should include people at all stages of the journey, even those who have not yet internalized the failure rate of dieting.

There will be a lot happening in the next few months as we find our footing and figure out just what this new Fat Acceptance community is all about. We hope you stick around and contribute often, as the best Fat Acceptance community is going to be the one that you contribute your ideas and opinions to.

We welcome additional bloggers that want to contribute or just submit guest posts. We welcome everyone who has come to engage in respectful dialogue and an honest assessment of the current state of fathood.

So, add us to your feed and come back often. We’re certain you’ll find a welcome community with the Fierce, Freethinking Fatties.

Looking forward to reading what’s on offer! Have just publicised your unveiling over at Fat Lot of Good so hopefully you will get some people wandering on over for a peek. Good luck with it all!

Thanks, but just so you know, I’m still displeased with how my ejection from the Fatosphere was handled. I appreciate the gesture, but I still think you could have handled the situation better. I hope you remember this if you’re faced with this situation in the future.

      Peace,
      Shannon

You’re well entitled to think what you like of what happened and of me. I am publicising this venture because it might offer some fat person out there what they need to accept themselves. I am looking beyond personalities and personal feelings to what is good, in my opinion, for the broader Fat Acceptance movement. Just as I am sure you will do what YOU think is good for advancing your perspective of the cause. Different strokes for different folks. If you want to stay angry, upset, bitter or whatever, go ahead – it makes no difference to me and I would handle the situation exactly the same way if it happened again. I’m not going to rehash it anymore here or anywhere else. Good luck with it all.

    Thanks for the press, Bri!

Glad you have a new blog. I don’t comment much, but I was sad to see the other one go. I do think it was a nice gesture for Bri to give you guys a shout out, and hope that any differences can be let go. Very off topic, but I also really enjoyed some of the comments you left on the ZC new blog (which I am no longer reading). Wish all of you the best, and I look forward to the new blog.

      Thanks SC,
I am trying very hard to let the differences go. I was pretty frustrated by the situation, so I’m really struggling to put on my best face. I have to try harder, though.

I’m not sure if you knew, but I have started up Atchka! again, so there’s no need to be sad any more. :)

Thanks for the kind words and I hope you enjoy our new group blog.

      Peace,
      Shannon

Thank you for the warm welcome, and I’m sorry if my comment came off as critical. I know how hard it is to deal with a hurtful or frustrating situation, and really didn’t mean to come off as omg get over it already. Something I really liked about your blog was your honesty and the fact that you are still trying to figure things out. I think a lot of us are still at that point, trying to sort through FA and HAES, and it’s cool to see someone being candid about it. I’ll quit hijacking your comments now, and I’m stoked you’re posting at Atchka again.

Don’t worry, I didn’t take it as something critical. It’s something I was thinking about myself last night. I suffer from People Pleaser Syndrome, so when I piss people off, I try to explain my way back to equilibrium.

And honesty is the only thing I can promise with any certainty. I’m no good at lying. :)

          Peace,
          Shannon

This whole project looks awesome. I think the feed wars were unfortunate and may be best forgotten, especially since a group blog like this fills such a gap since Shapely Prose quit. People who need a safe space can have it, and people who want a range of views can come here. This really looks like it could be the centre of the fatosphere. Standing ovation, Shannon.

Thanks Trabbs. Glad you’re here. :) I hope we provide a little something for everyone.

      Peace,
      Shannon
