Funny expectations…
Snickers and sneers
le sigh
pedaling judgment with a glance
ignoring my kindly smile
It’s funny
(not a ha ha
more like a curiosity)
the expectation
Somehow disapproval
should inspire
my eager conformity
instead of rebellion
foolish people
I feel it widen
(my congenial comfort)
to match my girth
thick skin
and a tough heart
dimples up top
and down below
My smile turns dismissive
perhaps a touch perplexed
head held high
as I walk away.
